World Peace & Prayer Day Gathering At Hill Of Uisneach In Ireland

A gathering of people from the four nations of England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, and all the world over will take place from June 20 to 23rd 2001. This is significant for many reasons not least the coming together of sacred traditions new and old and of indiginous and ordinary people moving forward through a forgiveness of the past toward a new unity and respect across the world.  WPPD aims to show that profound positive change comes through at the level of consciousness.  June 21st is the Summer Solstice and holds ancient traditional ceremonial importance to all cultures.  On this day the Sun, the Source of Life, is at it's most intense. Life is held in balance when the four elements of earth, air, water and fire are in harmony and clearly this is not so today as global warming and pollution is damaging our lives.
Ancient traditions maintain these as sacred principles through our conscious interaction with the natural environment.

Native Wisdom Essential For Health Of The Planet

In our ongoing effort to work for the fundmental rights of indigenous cultures, we have partnered with the NetAid.Org volunteer program and the Eastern Art Arcade in the development of a project focusing on the study and documentation of our world's tribal heritage. It is our hope to create a greater awareness of the necessity to preserve the ancient wisdom of all native people who's intimate understanding of nature is so important for maintaining the health and balance of the earth's life supporting ecosystems.

Solar Eclipse To Occur On June 21st!

WPPD-2001 will be blessed with a full solar eclipse this year which will be viewable from a narrow band crossing the Southern Hemisphere. This is very exciting to all of us as we believe that this planetary alignment may help to amplify our collective efforts to bring about a global shift of consciousness. For centuries, people have been astounded by phenomenon like this. The fact that this is occurring on the Summer Solstice is very significant according to the beliefs of indigenous cultures, it's a sign that we are on the right path to peace.

Connecting With The Earth's Sacred Sites

Comprised of the elements that make all of life possible on this planet, our ancestors evolved through an intimate relationship with our environment - free of all the distractions that we experience in today's modern society. Through this deeper connection with nature, we experience our fundamental oneness with the world around us in a way that positively influences our health and inner state of well being. On June 21st, we are asking everyone to connect with the earth's sacred sites as a world community dedicated to the preservation of our life sustaining environment so that we may provide our children with a planet that is capable of sustaining life for generations to come. If you will be organizing a local gathering, please let us know so that we may include your location and contact information in our global listings directory.
